MPMS enthusiastically participated in the Resilient Generations exhibition of Solidarity Street Gallery 2022 at the East Side Freedom Library. The captivating Faces of Solidarity exhibition showcased at the Solidarity Street Gallery of the ESFL opened its doors on September 9 at 5 PM. The Solidarity Picnic followed on Saturday, September 10, 2022, from 3-6 PM. To engage a broader audience, virtual openings and discussions have been scheduled for September 29 and October 13.
Faces of Solidarity serves as a photographic tribute to the resilient Polish refugees who found their new home in Minnesota. It marks the inaugural installment of MPMS's Kalejdoskop Polski MN project, a multi-year endeavor aimed at documenting the experiences of Polish immigrants in Minnesota after World War II.
Grzegorz Litynski was the Lead Artist responsible for this project's captivating visual history portion. To explore more of his work, please visit www.litynski.com. Dr. Katarzyna Litak, the exhibition's curator and designer, also serves as the President of MPMS.
The success of the Kalejdoskop Polski, MN, project would not have been possible without the generous grant support from the Minnesota Historical Society, Metro Regional Arts Council, and the Minnesota State Arts Board. Their assistance has been invaluable in bringing this important initiative to life.
